Spring 2022 Update
With spring well and truly upon us and the Greytown Orchards’ fruit trees in beautiful blossom, I thought it timely to give you an update on developments.
Our Lifestyle Retirement Village is now really starting to take shape. With the neutral colours of the villas, complemented by the backdrop of mature orchard trees in blossom, the generous landscaping and meandering walking paths, it’s all coming together beautifully. All of this is only a stone’s throw from Greytown’s vibrant village.
The Greytown Orchards community continues to grow, and we now have 31 residents living in our villas, with another 25 under construction. In total, 50 individuals and couples have purchased villas so far, to be part of the community.
My name is Wendy Mackay and I have recently joined Greytown Orchards as Sales Consultant. I’m passionate about the retirement village offering and what it provides our residents, resulting in many years working within the industry. I’ve spent time working in large and small retirement villages all over the upper North Island. One thing that I’ve been struck by here since starting at the Orchards is the beautiful grounds. The utmost care has been taken to preserve the plum trees, to keep them an integral part of the village. Rows of these gorgeous trees line the grounds between the villas, creating a lovely separation without the need for unsightly fences. Right now the blossoms are in bloom, and it looks truly stunning. I can’t wait for the trees to bear fruit!

Planning is well underway for our permanent communal facilities, with construction planned to start in mid-2023. “The Lodge” as it will be known is planned to be completed by late-2024. The Lodge will have a café, various lounge spaces, bar, function room, hair salon, consulting room, an indoor heated pool, gymnasium and various outdoor spaces.
Greytown Orchards is expected to be completed within the next five years and will provide a total of 180 independent living villas, 30 apartments and a state-of-the art care facility.
